Superman #3

Heroes are often their best when their backs are up against the wall - and this issue delivers that in spades.

The Earth has been transported into the Phantom Zone (and we finally get a hint about how that happened) and Superman and the heroes of Earth are faced with trying to hold things together - and trying to survive the changes ravaging the planet.

Even worse, armies of Krypton's worst villains - and Superman's newest, most deadly enemy - are also in the Phantom Zone, and that just amps up the menace even more.

The story is building nicely and the tension escalates quickly.

   What fun!

A great issue. Bendis has an excellent feel for Superman. Glad to see Mr. Terrific make an appearance (love THE TERRIFICS), but it was a tad unsettling to see Professor Palmer freak out. While I totally can understand it seems out of place coming from him. Did he forget about "Heaven's Ladder"?
