Tank Girl All Stars #3

When you read a Tank Girl comic, several descriptive words  come to mind.

Rude. Violent. Funny. Zany. Explosive. Naughty. Did I say violent already?

Of course, it's all in the service of humor and anarchy.

The opening story follows TG and her pals as they make their way to a friend's wedding and get sidetracked in a plot blatently stolen from the movie It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (How many time is "Mad" in the title? Wait, let me look. Four times, according to IMDb. Fixed it.)

The art is almost surreal, but I'm a sucker for that movie, which I watch every time I fall across it, so I was "all in" on this story.

The second story borrows from the (inexplicably) popular zombie trend.  It's fast, it's fun, it features surprise guest stars and a cliffhanger ending.

   What more could you want?

   Lots of violence? Covered.

Wonderful World of Tank Girl #4

You can count on Tank Girl's adventures to be rude and raucous, and the Wonderful World of Tank Girl is no exception.

This issue takes her and her entourage on a bit of a throwback adventure, as they take a wild trip (in the '60s, psychedelic sense of the word).

Throw in a Dungeons and Dragons-style battle and more than a few drug references, and you have an over-the-top romp.

It's not for kids, of course, but those of us who fondly remember the '60s (even if we weren't old enough to enjoy its excesses), this issue is a heck of a lot of fun.

Tank Girl: Two Girls One Tank #1

Back again for more hell-raising is the cult favorite Tank Girl, the legendary anarchist who just wants to have fun.

Originally created in 1988 by Jamie Hewlett and Alan Martin, Tank Girl has appeared in a number of series, mini-series - and a feature film!

She's back in a new title by writer Alan Martin and artist Brett Patterson, and she hasn't lost a step.

But she has lost her tank (which doubles as her home and her weapon of choice), thanks to her mutant kangaroo husband Booga, who lost it in a card game.

Never daunted, the two and their best friend Barney (who's a female) set out on a daring crime, but they're destined to meet another kindred spirit - and lots of law enforcement officials.

This is a fun, high-energy series. It's not for kids - there's adult language and some nudity - it's morally dubious, but all in good fun.
