All-New X-Men #20

See that wonderful Brandon Peterson cover over there for All-New X-Men?

Yeah, that doesn't happen in this comic.

There's a scene that's almost kinda sorta close, but not really.

So just be aware of that going in.

The story is a quick bit of business as Wolverine's cloned daughter (yeah, I know) X-23 is rescued by the original X-Men and after some clever dialogue (patent pending, Brian Michael Bendis). She leads the team to an armed group of humans - the Purifiers - who want to wipe out mutants.

It all sounds very straightforward, but these things tend to not go according to plan, so there are a few twists and turns along the way.

The artwork by Mahmud Asrar and Peterson is terrific, with loads of action and angst to move things along. And I do love seeing the original team in action again.

There's not a lot of deep thought going on here - just straightforward action in the typical Marvel fashion.

   Nothing wrong with that!
