This is "Part 4 of 6," but it actually begins the story of the other possible future for Archie (Andrews, that is).
The first three issues depicted his wedding and life with Veronica (at least up to the part where they had kids), and now we'll see what might happen if he had married Betty instead.
The odd thing about the story is that Archie seems to ask Betty as a consolation prize, after feeling rejected by Veronica. It could be interpreted differently, of course - perhaps he was planning to let Veronica down gently and never got the chance.
Whatever the case, this issue's story is laid out by the cover, and we'll see over the next two issues how things work out.
The story by Michael Uslan is light on the usual jokes, but this is yet another entertaining take on the possible future for the Riverdale gang (although Archie's proposal seems awfully rude). The art by Stan Goldberg (pencils) and Bob Smith (inks) is terrific as always, and if anything they seem to have a better grip on the adult versions of the cast - or perhaps I'm just getting used to the idea.
If I was going to predict which girl Archie would "really" marry, I would have chosen Betty (as would all right-thinking people). It'll be interesting to see how the matchup works in "real life."
